Pregnancy Acupuncture

Acupuncture for Pregnancy

Pregnancy Acupuncture can be used to manage any and all of the problems experienced during pregnancy from morning sickness to back pain. Acupuncture can also prepare mother and baby for a smooth, on-time delivery, and has been proven to be effective in turning a breech or posterior baby (see Research tab).

Acupuncture may be helpful in preparing your body for pregnancy. TCM may improve your health, stamina and detoxify your body.

Nausea in early pregnancy is common, unpleasant BUT definitely not untreatable.

Many people suffer headaches or migraines during pregnancy and find there are very few and sometimes ineffective drugs available to them.  Acupuncture may help reduce headaches

Don’t suffer through colds and flu. Pregnancy may be a time of low immunity where you catch everything going around.

Acupuncture is excellent in improving the symptoms of back pain. Pregnancy may exacerbate a pre-existing back condition or it may cause back pain late in pregnancy.

Oedema is very common and very uncomfortable especially in the hotter months, and can lead to other symptoms such as carpal tunnel syndrome. Acupuncture can be effective in reducing swelling. Drink some dandelion tea to reduce fluid too.

Research shows that it can be successful in up to 75% of cases! If your baby is in the breech position at 33 weeks then come and have acupuncture and moxibustion (burning of herbs over specific points)  Treatment is at its most effective between 33 and 36 weeks.
